Greg Hurtz, Ph.D., is a professor of
industrial and organizational psychology
at California State University, Sacramento
(CSUS). His extensive research
has been widely recognized by the local
and national scientific communities,
serving as the foundation for his work to
help organizations optimize their human
resource practices.
For more than a decade, Greg has
applied his expertise in psychometrics,
research methodology and statistical
analysis to create management tools
and drive best practices in the measurement,
prediction, and improvement of
employee performance. His extensive
experience in the development and
validation of tests for employee licensure,
certification, selection, and training
evaluation have added direct value to
organizations such as GE Capital, Excelsior
College, the American Board of
Nursing Specialties, and public agencies
involved in the selection and training
of corrections and law enforcement
personnel in New York and California.

His work to develop best practices for
consulting services has helped Biddle
Consulting Group and Comira Testing
to enhance their services to clients
across industries. Greg’s recognized
capabilities and proven results have
driven organizations to seek out CSUS
for professional consultation.
In addition to numerous conference
presentations and publications, Dr.
Hurtz has served as an expert reviewer
for several scientific journals in applied
psychology and measurement. He is
currently a member of the review board
for EEO Insight and an associate editor
and chapter author for a forthcoming
handbook of work analysis. His informative
lectures and active mentoring
have prepared his graduate students to
apply a variety of workplace management
principles with excellence, earning
praise from employers and improving
the practices of diverse public and private
organizations in northern California.
Greg earned B.A. and M.A. degrees
from CSUS and a Ph.D. in industrial/
organizational psychology from the
University at Albany, State University
of New York.
